In the heart of Paramaribo, where coffee was historically cultivated by the Gomperts family, Coffee Mama Branderij is located just a stone's throw away on Costetrstraat 62 . The roastery is transitioning from manual operations to a fully automated system powered by an IMF roaster from the Italian manufacturer.

Technology and innovation

With the expansion of this facility, the intention is for Coffee Mama to increase its capacity as well as to improve and monitor the consistency and quality of the roasted beans.

To achieve this goal, Coffee Mama has installed a new roaster.bThanks to the patented VORTEX system, the generated hot air is mixed with fresh air to reach accurate temperature control in the roasting drum for a perfect and consistent roasting process. The internal air partition conveyance system allows the heat to be equally distributed internally and externally of the roasting chamber, ensuring a uniform heat transfer to each single coffee bean, for gentle and perfect roast. The IMF roasters is fully automatic, with proprietary roasting software, possibility to operate in semi-automatic mode and connectable to auxiliary roasting softwares.
